School is out!

We a have just completed our first trimester of the school year. And my kids are so excited, they will be off track for 5 weeks. I have been asked if I like year round school compared to traditional, well I thought about it and I really have nothing to compare it to. I think you make work what ever you have. I was torn before my kids started school, because the only thing that I had any memory of was traditional, but now that my kids are in school and have great teachers I don't mind year round, you just have to be creative in finding things to do for your kids, but I think you have to do the same thing during the summer if they are off for 3 months. I love that I have 4 options to choose from. I did have Isaac on a different track when he was in kindergarten and didn't really like the track, but the one we are on now really fits our family. I think that the best perk to year round is that we have opportunities to travel a couple times out the year, not just during the summer or over Christmas. So for all those that have wondered about traditional vs year round, I think you have to do what is available and what you feel fits your family the best.

:) Happy days are here again!

I am elated today and I hope the joy continues for the next couple of years. MY husband joined our family to get to church. Yes that is right I am no longer the widow on sunday morning drives to church. Christian is no longer in meetings on sunday mornings. This has been a 3 year adventure. The kids all were so amazed that he was with us, they were even more amazed that he gets to ride in the same car as us to go home. I loved that I had an extra voice this morning to get everyone dress and out the door with out pulling my hair out. I am very greatful he had the calling he did and now it is time for new things. I am sure that it will be a new adventure in his new calling. Everyone brace your selves Christian was just called as the Weblos Leader. OK, now that you all know that he was called to do this, I have to explain a short story about him. The only time he ever threated to run a way from home when he was little was when he had to go to cub scouts.
I am waiting to see what new things he will inspire the 10 years with. I know that there are scouters out there and if you have any words of wisdom for Christian please pass them along, I am sure he would love to hear from you.

A pet that came to visit

We had a special guest in our back yard this summer. He was a Horned Tomato Worm. Nicole loved to see him and loved to poke at it. I was going to kill the thing but had a change of heart when Nicole loved him so much. All it did was eat. I have had bugs in my yard but nothing that ate and ate and ate. I really did not care if it lived, because I was done with the tomato's for the year. I went out last week and found that it was no longer on the tomato plants. I hope that he is either turing into a moth or was a tasty treat for the many types for birds around.

New things

Christian did all the work on my new closet. He is removing the old shelf and rail.
I love to watch him work. Thanks John for your example to Christian.
My usable space tripled . My favorite part is the hamper (not shown).

We bought an early christmas present for ourselves. I am loving my new closet. I had an idea that we could get more use out of the closet space we had in our master bedroom. I had no idea how much usable space that was in my closet. I love what I found. I used http://www.easycloset.com/ to construct the beautiful closet we have now.

Aaron has come up with a great solution!

Aaron came home from school and told me he wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher when he grows up. I thought that was great. He proceeded to tell me about the great things you do in Kindergarten. He said his teacher is the best and he wants to be just like her. Then he told me he was going to be "the Cops" like his uncle Garrett (he also wants to be a police officer). I asked him how he was going to do both of them. I get this response "Well mom see, I am going to teach little kids how to be cops so that when they grow up they will love kindergarten and cops." I am trying not to keep a straight face, and keep him talking."You know mom you have to teach us little to know that you want to be that."
I just love that he has solved the problem of all those that didn't know you can just teach it to them in kindergarten and they will grow and do that.
