I did a Metric Centry Ride. Well almost!

Yesterday was so much fun. Me, Gretchen Stone, and Erica Young decied that we were going to do a centry ride like our husbands. We thought we can do it, it won't be that difficult. Well, I never rode my bike up any hills (over passes, but they are not monster hills). We started out and my bike seat was to low and to far forward. This great guy who was riding with us adjusted it for me. We found out later that the 3 men that kept us company and going, were part of the ride company. They were there to make sure we made it back in one piece. I am so greatful for them. They help in so many ways.
Well we got about 32 miles into the ride and we came to a hill that was a 30 to 40 minute climb, for me that meant it would take me about double that time. As I started up the hill I made it about 10 minutes of riding and my legs started to cramp. I got off my bike thinking that it would be better to walk the rest of the way, as soon as I took my first step my legs cramped up so bad I was in a squat and trying not to cry. My friend Erica was with me and called for Christian to come back and get me. Christian and Rob Stone loaded me in the Tahoe and Christian rode my bike the rest of the way up the hill and into the lunch station. SO my husband was able to participate. He told me after, that I had it in one of the harder gears and that is probably why I was using so much energy to go up the hills.
I am so glad that our husbands drove after us, I was in serious pain. We got back to the lunch station and I thought, oh I can make it the rest of the way. I sat down for about 20 minutes and tried to stand and my legs cramped up again. Well that was the end of my ride for the day. I made it 32 miles.
Here is a link to the pictures and route that we did. http://www.robstone.org/kaiya_public_html/part82/

This is our friends website. The pictures of all of us are there.

Are you able to walk still? Or are you a hurting unit? That was a long ride. Impressive.
